In-Flight Entertainment- People Will Talk

"[Whether] the practice of medicine should become more and more intimately involved with the human beings it treats or whether it's to go on in it's present way of becoming more and more a thing of pills, serums and knives until eventually we should undoubtedly evolve an electronic doctor" -Cary Grant in People Will Talk

I stumbled upon this 1951 film the other day and was blown away at it's message and how it so closely relates to our society today. A story ahead of it's time, People Will Talk discusses the problems arising in the medical and food industries, issues that have become prominent in today's society resulting in negative effects on the health and well being of so many people.

Imagine Mr. Smith Goes to Washington meets Patch Adams and you will have some sort of idea of the power behind this film. The love story and it's heroin are a bit lacking but the underlining message is quite compelling. And let's face it, spending 2 hours with Cary Grant isn't so bad either.

Follow Dr. Noah Praetorius (Cary Grant) as he fights modern medicine with new-age ideas of treating the whole person, not just the symptom, the true power behind the mind's ability to heal, and producing food exactly how it was meant to be produced. Full of fast talking and quick thoughts, you'll want to pay close attention to the dialog, or else you may become uninterested in the surface story. There's even a surprise actress in the opening scene. See if you can place what role she played in a major, wave breaking film in 1939. I'll give you a hint, you'll recognize her voice from her extremely famous line from the movie.

People Will Talk is an instant play on Netflix.com and can also be purchased on Amazon.com. Curl up with a cup of tea and enjoy this inspiring film on your next flight, layover or day at home.

As Always,

Here's to Life, Love, Health and Happiness! Cheers!
