My Rx Against Radiation & Other Toxins

Working in an office so high in the sky has it's downsides. You are unable to ask the unruly person in 10B to kindly exit at 35,000 ft or clear your head by stepping outside for fresh air. If that weren't enough, your body is also in contact with large amounts of radiation. Flight attendants, and those who travel just as much, are at a higher risk of developing cancer, along with many other physical issues such as thyroid problems and rotator cuff injuries (the most common injury among flight attendants).

To help rid your body of extra radiation and ease those sore muscles, take a bath! But not just any bath, a detox bath. Mixing 2 cups epsom salts with 2 cups baking soda and soaking for 20 minutes removes radiation and soreness from your body. If you'd like, add essential oils such as vitamin E and/or jojoba for moisturizing and lavender, chamomile and/or rosewood for calming. Baking soda can be purchased in bulk at Costco or any wholesale store and epsom salts can be found inexpensively at your local pharmacy.

A detox bath does not only heal your body, it heals your mind, heart and soul. After being crammed in a metal tube with strangers staring at you and wanting from you all day, it feels good to take a moment for yourself. Light some candles, put on your favorite, calming music and let the water do the work. I try to take one at the end of each of my work blocks, so about once a week.

I know taking time for You is asking a lot but I'm sure you can manage it somehow ;)

As Always,

Here's to Life, Love, Health and Happiness! Cheers!
